Hi, I’m Scott Kuwahara, a recent graduate with a degree in Art and Design: Games and Playable Media from UCSC. I’ve had the opportunity to develop many skills in design, programming, and art creation. Before attending university, I was a professional esports player in Fortnite Battle Royale with over $35,000 tournament earnings. Most recently I've reached the highest rank in Riot's Teamfight Tactics.
My experience in competitive gaming has given me a deep understanding of player motivation, strategy, and balance in gameplay. My personal approach to design is rooted in player motivations. I recognize that players engage with games for a wide range of personal reasons. I strive to create systems and experiences that are intuitive, rewarding, with a focus on balance, ensuring that my work can be enjoyed by as many players as possible.

Some of my all-time favorite games are Teamfight Tactics, Hearthstone, MAgic the Gathering, and Realm of the Mad God. Outside of gaming I'm a big basketball fan and an avid music listener! Some of my favorite artists right now are Le sserafim and Elephante.
